🌿 Places to Visit in Kalkan: An Unforgettable Route in the Heart of the Sea, History, and Nature

Kalkan, located in the Kaş district of Antalya, is one of the hidden gems of the Mediterranean with its historic stone houses, bougainvillea-lined streets, and deep blue bays. If you’re looking to cool off with a swim, connect with history, and breathe in nature on your vacation, this guide is for you!

If your suitcase is packed, let’s head to Kalkan’s most beautiful spots. 🚗🌊

📍 Kaputaş Beach

The crown jewel of our list! Just 7 km from Kalkan, Kaputaş Beach, that famous view you reach with 187 steps... that’s it!

With its turquoise, yellow sand, and cool waters, it’s truly a picture-perfect destination. The water’s coolness comes from the icy underground springs that flow from the canyon. While the sea can deepen quickly, it requires some caution, but its clarity is unrivaled!

💡 Tip: Don’t forget to bring water shoes, as the beach is a mix of sand and pebbles. The beach is public, and entrance is free. There are sun loungers, showers, restrooms, and a cafe.

🏖 Patara Beach

If you’re looking for "both sea and history," this is the perfect spot for you. Patara, one of Turkey’s longest beaches with a 12-kilometer stretch, is also home to the loggerhead turtle.

Watching the sun set over the dunes at sunset... indescribable! Plus, many Yeşilçam films were filmed here, so nostalgia is a bonus.

🎟 Entry is 650 TL, but it’s free if you have a Museum Card. If you visit the ancient city of Patara, you can also use that ticket to access the beach.

🏞 Saklıkent Canyon

Would you rather raft or walk in the cool water? The choice is yours. Just remember that the ground is slippery; shoes and a change of clothes are essential.

💰 2025 price: Adults 65 TL, students 35 TL. MuseumCard is not accepted.

Imagine a city lying underwater! Located around Kekova Island, the Sunken City was submerged by earthquakes in the 2nd century AD.

Swimming is prohibited in this area, which you can reach by boat from Kalkan, but viewing the ruins from glass-bottomed boats is a wonderful experience. Boats stop at stops like Tersane Bay for swimming breaks.

📷 Don’t forget your camera, the sunset views are epic!
